Calangianus Mayor Fabio Albieri has taken a new, tough stance on the situation at the Center for Unaccompanied Minors . In recent days, Albieri has denounced the consequences of a situation that leaves the facility's residents "out of control."

Today, Albieri addressed the Sassari Prefecture directly: "An untenable situation erupted overnight with a violent brawl that required the massive intervention of the Carabinieri and emergency vehicles , leaving several injured who ended up in the emergency room." This dramatic situation prompted Fabio Albieri to send a request for intervention to the Prefect of Sassari and, for information, to the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi and the Network Consortium, which manages the facility.
Albieri emphasizes how the facility is now completely out of control: people leaving and returning at all hours of the night, a complete disregard for the rules of coexistence, incidents of harassment of residents, and dramatic events, such as the serious fall of an Algerian child from a window just two days ago, resulting in serious fractures. The mayor states: "This is no longer the time for routine reports or silent waiting: the limit is full, and the risk to public safety is real. Although the cooperative has announced its intention to close the facility by December 31st, the local community cannot wait any longer. The question we desperately ask ourselves is: what will happen between now and December? How will we be able to endure these next few months under these conditions? Calangianus has always stood out as a welcoming and inclusive community, capable of integrating those who respect the rules, as demonstrated by the positive results of the SAI projects managed in the area, but the local population is now exasperated and lives in a state of constant insecurity."
For this reason, the mayor is calling on the Prefect and the Ministry of the Interior to take "urgent and urgent action" to "immediately restore public order; ensure constant and rigorous surveillance near and inside the facility; and adopt any extraordinary measures necessary to protect the safety of citizens and the center's guests before further irreparable tragedies occur."

Albieri concludes: "I trust in a timely and decisive response from the relevant institutions, to restore serenity and safety to our community."
