Sardinia Open: Bellucci defeats Sonego in the third set

Mattia Bellucci won the most anticipated Italian derby of the Sardinia Open tennis tournament in Cagliari, defeating Lorenzo Sonego 6-4, 1-6, 7-5. In the round of 16, he faced Gianluca Cadenasso, who defeated Lorenzo Carboni, who was reinstated in the Sardinian Open, 6-3, 6-1. Matteo Arnaldi advanced to face Federico Arnaboldi (6-7, 6-4, 6-2).
The promising Italian tennis player, Ciná, born in 2007 in Palermo, also had no chance: Juan Manuel Cerundolo defeated him in the third set (6-7, 6-4, 6-3). Andrea Pellegrino, on the other hand, defeated the Greek Stefanos Sakellaridis 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. Luca Potenza, on the other hand, failed to make it, losing 3-6, 6-7 to the American Alexandar Kovacevic.
Thursday features all the round of 16 matches, with Berrettini's return to action against top seed Navone of Argentina, winner of the 2024 Sardegna Open. The tournament's other big names are also present: Mannarino faces De Jong, Burruchaga faces Pellegrino, and Borges faces Garin.
