Expectations were high and we weren't disappointed .

Sardinia, on its second day of Bit, the Milan International Tourism Exchange , is recording numbers that bode well for the 2023 season, with «the operators present at the fair having already reached 40% of the bookings available in their structures ». This was stated by councilor Gianni Chessa , who inaugurated the Region's stand on Sunday, together with the Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè . «This edition, which ends on February 14 , is already a success for the whole island».

The turnout is extraordinary , "symptom of a great desire to restart on the part of tourists and the operators themselves who are managing to advertise and make their activities known in a national and international showcase ", adds Chessa.

Sardinia presented itself at the Lombard appointment with the aim of promoting its tourist offer as effectively as possible, through a stand of over 1000 square meters which hosted 57 exhibitors and 114 operators representing the various sectors: from hospitality to tourist consortia, from food and wine to the services offered by religious tourism. Among the innovations presented to the public today, also the circuit of the villages of Saboris Antigus , an initiative aimed at promoting flavors and traditions in Trexenta and Sarcidano. The event embraces food and wine and local traditions.

And Chessa has no doubts about the next steps to take: «Now we have to think about opening the season as early as Easter . There are many international and global sporting events scheduled : we are preparing to experience a record - breaking season . In October we will host the World Series of the America's Cup in Cagliari , which will give us important visibility. We must prepare ourselves in the best possible way, to guarantee all the people who arrive in Sardinia not only the beds but also all the other services. There are many investments made by the regional administration. We can do it, we have to believe in it and create a system».
