“Swag Pop Corn”, the new single by Serena Collu, aka Sere, is the emblem of an increasingly focused path. Twenty-one years old, born in Cagliari, raised in Vallermosa and now based in Milan where she studies pop composition at the Civica Abbado, Sere has several singles to her credit, from "Paranoie", to "Ingranaggi" and "Chiodi Fissi", small stages of a a path which, today, finds a turning point in "Swag Pop Corn" and in the collaboration with the Stay Records label and with Edizione Orange Records. A sparkling, ironic, intimate and frank song, for those who love the truth and know how to read between the lines, munching on yet another bag of popcorn with friends. «I always start from the details of my life: relationships, people, confusion… There is always an aspect of the coin, from a kiss on the forehead, to a door that closes on your thumb», Sere told us. «The popcorn of the title, then, refers to the frankness and honesty that can be found in a toast with friends».

This piece tells the story of a conflicted girl. Is it the story of his life?

«Totally! When I form an idea about something or someone, something else always happens to shatter it. It also happened with the lyrics of this song."

Question of astral conjunctions?

"I don't believe so much in these things, but, in the end, certain attitudes and certain characteristics are those."

Her?

«Determination, always being positive, cheerful, I always manage to find the good in things, even if I then get overwhelmed by external factors, because I always aim for the perfection of things or wanting to solve other people's problems too... I'm Capricorn, Sagittarius ascendant and, yes, I know, there is a bit of toxicity in this, but music helps me throw it out."

A central theme of his songs, even if treated with irony, is existential discomfort. Is singing it a choice or a necessity?

«A necessity, otherwise I would always keep everything inside. Of course, it's not easy to talk about certain details of your life, but the important thing is that others can then see each other again, find their story in my words, because maybe what I'm talking about is everyone's discomfort."

When you're not making music, what do you like to do?

«I act as an usher in the theatre, at the Piccolo and the Mahler. I work a lot and study a lot."

Do you miss Sardinia?

«Yes, my family is there and for me they are always a point of reference, but my decision to leave was born from the awareness that it was not my place to grow on an artistic and professional level. My mother, then, lived in South Africa for many years, so I have always been fascinated by this thing of the different, of wanting to go and in Milan I found my personal tranquility, even if, in the end, everything is always a disaster!" .
