In the absence of methane, you travel on diesel. The vast majority of the condominium systems in Sardinia burn that fuel and the purchase costs, which had already risen last year, are destined to increase.

Federcosumatori calculated the jump: + 49%. In addition to the electricity bills which, in the case of those who live in a building, are those of the apartment and those of the condominium.

The plan to save

In addition to suggestions on how every Italian can cut consumption, the Plan signed by Minister Roberto Cingolani sets new stakes on the switching on of heating systems, but not only. The temperature must be reduced by one degree: to 17 for buildings used for industrial, craft and similar activities and to 19 for all other buildings. Switch-on is reduced by 15 days (postponing the start date by 8 days and bringing the end of the year to an end by 7 days) and by one hour a day. In Italy these times change from municipality to municipality: there are six climatic zones and each has a different start and shutdown date.

The Sardinian calendar

On the island, most of the municipalities fall into zone C, in this case the heaters will be switched on from 23 November (and no longer from 15) to 24 March (and not 31) for nine hours (and not 10) a day. There are also many centers that fall into zone D: the heaters will be switched on from November 9th to April 8th for 11 hours. For the countries that fall into zone B, houses and offices will be heated for seven hours from 9 December to 25 March.

The price increases

Despite the cuts, the boilers will require a lot of diesel, "also because there are many old plants in Sardinia, or with old pipes, which therefore need large quantities of fuel", explains Mimmo Greco, president of the national association of condominium and real estate administrators. And, according to a very recent study by Federcosumatori, the expenses that families will have to face for the purchase of diesel will increase by 49%. Example: to heat a 100 square meter apartment, the cost this year will amount to € 2,309, while in 2021 it stopped at € 1,545.
