Employment in Sardinia up by 3.8%.

This was reported by the Observatory of Aspal (Sardinian Agency for Active Labor Policies), in a report which also highlights how the labor market on the island , after a decline in the most difficult months of the pandemic, during 2021 recorded a remarkable recovery, which further strengthened in 2022, thanks to government and regional investments.

In the first nine months of 2022 (compared to the previous year) a series of positive indicators were recorded, starting with those of the productive sectors: +1% industry, +3% other services, +9% hotels and restaurants , +14% constructions, favored by the Super Bonus 110.

As regards gender dynamics, job positions grew by +7% for men, by +6% for women.

Furthermore, both youth and over-55 job positions increased by +10%. The growth of all levels of education was also clearly positive, with positive values between +4% and +6%.

Overall, the regional labor market recorded a positive trend, driven by the excellent tourist season, and supported by the freeze on layoffs and by the huge resources invested in social safety nets, disbursed on an ongoing employment basis to maintain employment levels, such as extraordinary redundancy fund.

The report also highlights a recovery in fixed-term contracts, + 20%, especially in the construction sector, and a growth in permanent contracts, with values higher than the previous three years .

Again: full-time jobs are increasing compared to part-time jobs (+7% against + 4%) and the job positions of foreigners are growing at triple speed compared to those of Italians (+18% against +6%).

«Once again - comments the governor Christian Solinas - the Sardinian people have shown themselves to be resilient, due to their ability to face difficulties. After the positive report by Istat , data from the Observatory also demonstrate that the Region has put in place effective measures to counter an unprecedented economic crisis, supporting businesses and workers. In fact, Sardinia is the region that has invested the most own resources to deal with the emergency, making an extraordinary effort for economic and social recovery, in terms of resources and strategies".

The regional councilor for work Ada Lai was also satisfied: «It is a positive balance, despite the slowdowns due to Covid. Many objectives have been achieved, thanks to the good policy of Giunta Solinas and the good administration of the previous councilor, Alessandra Zedda. Encouraging data that restores hope for the future.

«Now great challenges await us - underlines the general manager of Aspal, Maika Aversano - in particular thanks to the Workers Employability Guarantee program, we will give important opportunities to people who have to enter the world of work and to those who need support to reconcile family-work time".
