Books, meetings, and stories for exploring the present from different perspectives. The fifth edition of the Propagazioni Festival is already in full swing, stopping at the Hospitalis Sancti Antoni with two evenings of current affairs, fiction, and major contemporary issues. Tomorrow, at 9 pm, it kicks off with "The Geography of Thirst," dedicated to the water crisis and its consequences. Filippo Menga, author of "Thirst: Water Crisis and Capitalism," and Alessandra Castellazzi, author of "The Clearing," will discuss water scarcity, natural resources, inequality, and the climate crisis with Vania Statzu of the Medsea Foundation. The evening will continue with Sardinian fiction featuring Fabio De Roberto and "Zero a Zero," set in Sassari during the summer of the 2006 World Cup, and Andrea Serra with "Fernando," a story set in Carbonia during the industrial crisis. Following this, the provocative "Cabronazi: A Publisher Against Stereotypes" will feature Alessandro Marongiu, Elio Turno Arthemalle, and surprise guests, along with artistic director Vito Biolchini. The program will begin in the morning with the presentation of Chiara Secci's "Milo" at Mistral2, followed by a workshop on "Pinocchio" in Mandriola, and, at 6:30 p.m. in Arborea, "Femmenella" by Davide Piras. On Friday, the festival will shift its focus to memory, identity, and geopolitics. At the Hospitalis, Maria Spissu Nilson will present "Sinnada," and Luciana Floris will present "Fire, Ashes, Water," in conversation with Maria Delogu and accompanied by a reading by Laura Fortuna. Then, Asia will be explored with Stefano Pelaggi and Ilaria Maria Sala, protagonists of "Flowers and Microchips," exploring Taiwan, technology, power, and political culture. Throughout the day, there will be events with Franca Mugittu, Claudia Piras, and Cinzia Pilo, author of "Sheroes," dedicated to the women who changed the history of rock. Propagazioni will continue until Saturday. At the Hospitalis, the exhibition "Can You Really See Us?" by Mazen Kerbaj will also be open until the 29th. The program will then continue with the Fuori Tempo film screening and, from August 25th to 29th, Miniere Sonore.
