Cagliari the richest Sardinian municipality, in Soddì the lowest income. Acli: «Average growth of 5.9%, timid recovery for the Island»

Cagliari confirms itself as the Municipality of Sardinia with the highest income. This is what emerges from the data of the 2024 tax returns, with tax year 2023 , published by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
In the capital, the average income declared by taxpayers last year was 28,227 euros (up from 25,315 euros the previous year ). Numbers that place Cagliari in 302nd place in the national ranking , making it recover 22 positions compared to the previous report.
Incomes above 20 thousand euros per year also in the main municipalities of the hinterland, such as Selargius (23,977, the second “richest” municipality in Sardinia after Cagliari) , Capoterra (23,113) and Quartu (22,521).
Looking at the other major centers of the island, in Sassari the average income declared in 2024 was 23,638 euros (the third highest after Cagliari and Selargius), in Alghero 21,866, in Oristano 23,484, in Carbonia 20,249 and in Iglesias 20,842. Again: Nuoro 23,064 euros, Macomer 20,748, Olbia 21,214, Arzachena 21,489, La Maddalena 21,176, Tortolì 20,831, Isili 20,166. Tempio Pausania is instead below the 20 thousand euro mark , with 19,034 euros declared on average in 2024, and so are Porto Torres (19,868 euros) and Ozieri (19,022 euros).
THE LOWEST INCOMES – As for the municipalities on the island with the lowest income , the 730 with the lowest amounts are in Soddì (12,606 euros) and Onanì (12,782 euros). Below the 13 thousand euro mark are also Semestene (12,828 euros), Nureci (12,962) and Osidda (12,907).
In general, most of the centers in Sardinia are in the annual income bracket between 15,000 and 20,000 euros , while the average regional income is 20,565 euros, an increase of 5.9% compared to the 2023 declarations when it was 19,411 euros.
THE TOP 3 IN ITALY – At a national level, the municipality with the highest income is still Portofino (Genoa) with 94,505 euros , followed by Lajatico (Pisa) with 61,980 euros. Completing the “top 3” is Basiglio (Milan) , where an average of 50,807 euros were declared in 2024.
ANALYSIS – In terms of percentage growth compared to the last available fiscal year, Sardinia is in sixth place , preceded by Valle d'Aosta, Basilicata, Molise, Abruzzo and Calabria which are between 6 and 7% annual growth,
to to indicate a situation that is finally recovering . But in the ranking of the absolute value of the average taxable income , the situation is less rosy: Sardinia is stable in 15th place, followed by Campania, Basilicata, Sicily, Puglia, Molise and Calabria . Lombardy stands out in first place with an average taxable income of 28,105.21 euros."These data tell us that the average taxable income in Sardinia is 73% of the average taxable income in Lombardy . A figure that confirms last year's situation, albeit with some weak signs of hope", comments Mauro Carta, president of the regional Acli of Sardinia, who analyzed the numbers provided by the Mef.
Finally, as regards the average taxable income from pensions – the ACLI further underline – Sardinia is in 14th place with 19,691 euros , far from the value of Lazio, first in the ranking with 24,146.15 euros, and below the national average, equal to 21,258.83 euros .
