The aim is to strengthen links between the European regions most affected by diabetes to broaden expertise and develop good practices in managing the disease.
From Friday until June 20th, a Sardinian delegation made up of diabetes doctors, specialized nurses, people with type 1 and 2 diabetes and representatives of the Aniad Sardegna association will fly to Portugal to start the activities of the European ARCHEST project.
The initiative, funded by the European Commission's Erasmus+ programme, came fifth among hundreds who participated in the call for small-scale partnerships. During the stay, Aniad will meet the Portuguese Federation of Associations of People with Diabetes who will return the visit in September to draft the final protocol.
It will be an opportunity to improve knowledge of the eating habits and lifestyles of another culture, thus increasing the ability to make informed choices about how to deal with diabetes and lead a healthier life. The skills acquired will then be disseminated and promoted both locally and nationally.
