In the summer of dear holidays, Daniela Santanché launches a message on August 15th from Versilia, where Twiga is located, an establishment of which she is a co-founder and where a beach tent can cost up to 600 euros a day.

"I want to assure you that the government is working to make holidays accessible to everyone ," said the Minister of Tourism in an interview with Tg1, wishing all Italians a happy mid-August with a thought for those who are on holidays, with inflation at stars, he can't afford them. The executive, continues the FdI exponent, is also working on "seasonal adjustment" .

Santanché instills optimism: «The numbers tell us that there is an increasing desire for Italy in the world, there is +27% of foreigners in our country and this bodes well for the future . Another important figure is the tourism sector which has driven employment, including for women».

Concept reiterated shortly after in a video posted on social media: «Today I hope that you all can spend a peaceful and carefree day. I really wish you all the best and I tell you that the government is working to have all the tourist offers, because everyone must be able to go on vacation », he says, while behind him you can see dozens of people in the swimming pool.

Again, again on social media, this time in written form: «I wish a happy mid-August also to those who may not have had their holidays this year . I want to reassure them, because the government is working because holidays must be accessible to everyone and because we need to work on seasonal adjustments ».

The declarations arrive on August 15th, at the end of a summer in which there has been much controversy over the high prices. Starting with flights, with the government having passed a decree to cap fares to Sardinia and Sicily after skyrocketing prices and the furious reaction of the airlines. First of all Ryanair, which defined the provision as "illegal and ridiculous" and threatened to reduce routes to the two major islands.

But that's not all, because Airlines for Europe, the trade association, has asked Brussels to "clarify with Italy the fact that this intervention will have an impact on the free and deregulated air transport market in Europe" . The companies say they are concerned that "the adoption of this law could set a precedent and lead to a domino effect that translates into the adoption of similar rules in other countries".

Furthermore, in various tourist locations, from Positano to Capri, from Salento to Tuscany, from Liguria to Sardinia, strong price increases have been reported. And, as often happens, some receipts have emerged that have caused controversy. Among the latest , the bill for two coffees and two bottles of water in a well-known hotel in Porto Cervo: 60 euros .
