The Sant'Arte Festival, born from an idea by the artist Pinuccio Sciola and created by the Foundation that bears his name , continues tomorrow, Saturday 24 May.
The second day opens at 10 with the “Salumeria Volponi” workshop curated by Davide Volponi, created with the collaboration of the children and young people of the Domus de Luna Foundation, the organization led by Ugo Bressanello that recently won the “Buone notizie 2025” Award. “Salumeria Volponi” is one of Davide Volponi’s most representative projects, an artistic workshop where forgotten objects, recycled materials and industrial waste find new life through art. The name, chosen with irony, recalls a place of authentic flavors and popular memories, but in a creative way it becomes the space in which what had been discarded is sliced, assembled and transformed. Each work is a unique piece that tells stories of imperfection and hidden beauty.
From 4 pm the Festival moves to via Marongiu in the home of Pinuccio Sciola, which thanks to the contribution of the Sardinia Region will soon become a House Museum, a space intended to preserve and tell the work and thought of the great artist from San Sperate. The home and studio are gradually transforming into a living museum center, conceived not only as an exhibition space, but also as a cultural and educational center. The project aims to give the community an identity and creative space, where sound sculptures, archive materials and the natural environment merge into a unique experience, in continuity with the poetic and innovative vision of the Maestro.
The 4pm meeting will focus on the relationship between architecture, design, art and nature: the coordinators of the Landscape, Interior and Spatial Design course of the Design department of the Politecnico di Milano will speak . During the meeting, “Lithic Chord” will be presented, a special project of the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025, inspired by the intuitions on the elasticity of Pietra di Sciola and the result of the collaboration between the architect Cristina Morbi, formerly of the Politenico di Milano and founder of the London-based Studio Matherea, the engineer Francesco Banchini and the director of sound projects of the Sciola Foundation, Andrea Granitzio.
The evening event, with the significant title “E' qui che nascon le stelle…”, at 7 pm at the Giardino Sonoro where Pinuccio Sciola transformed fire into stars, will be highly evocative. On this occasion, the installation Other Worlds by artists Arotin & Serghei will be presented. Other Worlds is a project by Plataforma Vértices in collaboration with Arotin & Serghei and astronomer Antonio Hales of ALMA – Atacama Large Millimeter Array.
The evening at the Giardino Sonoro will close with the concert “Senza fine” by the singer-songwriter Guido Maria Grillo .
