There is a memory that cannot be caged in history books. It is that of men like Sandro Pertini, who have not only crossed history, but have embodied it .
On April 25, 2025, the eightieth anniversary of the Liberation, that memory will come alive again on the stage of Casa Saddi, in Pirri, thanks to “Sandro”, a show produced by Teatro dell'Argine and proposed as a regional premiere as part of the Aprile Resistente festival, organized by Il Crogiuolo – centro di intervento teatrale.
“Sandro” is a theatrical work that delves into the humanity and moral strength of a president who was, first and foremost, a man of struggle and freedom . The images that we all remember – him with Berlinguer, at Berlinguer’s funeral, him exulting at the 1982 World Cup, him lashing out at power with simple and implacable words – are only the surface. The show, written and performed by Andrea Poli with the direction of Andrea Santonastaso and the dramaturgy of Nicola Bonazzi, brings Pertini back into the living flesh of the Italian twentieth century, between prison, anti-fascism and civil passion.
Through an intense and visceral narration, “Sandro” tells not only the political parable, but above all the human one of a man who was able to remain true to himself even in the halls of power. It is a journey into the heart of the Seventies and Eighties – dense, contradictory, generative decades – in which, as the authors underline, many of the tensions we still deal with today took root.
The appointment is for Friday 25 April at 20:30. Reservations via WhatsApp at number 334 882 1892.
