Even the Eurallumina of Portovesme affected by the sanctions against Russia.

The chemical transformation company controlled by the Rusal group which in Sardinia, in the Sulcis industrial hub, has an investment plan of 300 million euros to relaunch the bauxite refinery that has been idle since March 2009 has ended up being affected by the measures affecting the Russia.

On 24 July the accounts of the company, which spends around two million euros every month to guarantee salaries and layoffs and over 300 million in the last 14 years, were frozen as part of the sanctioning procedures intended for Russia.

The stoppage that lasted about two days caused the case to explode, complete with protests and an appeal to the Prefect, because the freezing of accounts led to delays both in the payment of salaries and in that of suppliers.

A situation which, as underlined by the unions, could also have had serious environmental repercussions because workers and contractors guarantee the functioning of the plants that deal with the reclamation of the aquifer.

Then the turning point, albeit temporary, with the reactivation of the accounts and the green light for payments through a procedure that provides for a series of checks also by the Italian authorities.
