In the midst of the electoral campaign towards the municipalities on June 12, the museum town loses one of its most important political protagonists: Maria Bonaria Perra, a historic former deputy mayor who has represented the citizens at the town hall for almost twenty years, has died. A mourning that struck both the inhabitants and the personalities of the Sansperatina public administration (past, present and future) who decided to remember it by putting aside their different political beliefs.

"Companion in the fight"

«Maria Bonaria was a companion in the fight, a confidant, but above all a loyal and sincere friend», said Amalia Schirru, 69, moved, «We were neighbors and she was a point of reference for me. Daughter of workers, she went to school with great sacrifices, even fighting with her family ». Perra was also an example within the municipality according to Schirru: «She was always ready to give advice to many young people. From councilor for public education, and made our school an excellence in the neighborhood. Then the social policies, where he clashed with those who believed that some rights were almost luxury goods. He did not give up even now, at 79, in the face of the disease. I will always remember her like that, as a friend and a warrior ».

Mayor

The current mayor, Enrico Collu, 59, also remembers her: «I spent some of the most beautiful moments of conviviality with Maria Bonaria. There were also tough clashes, however, as we were always on "opposite sides". But I learned a lot from her: I am thinking of fidelity to one's ideals, determination and willingness to confront ». And Collu also underlines his social commitment: «She was the undisputed protagonist of our politics, from 1985 to 2002, always ready to fight for the weakest. It was fortunate to see her in the role of a hospitable mother, when I visited her house as a child and as a determined administrator ».

Even the mayoral candidates greeted Maria Bonaria Perra: «She was a sweet and determined person», commented Pier Paolo Casti, «I knew her thanks to the children we are close to in the moment of mourning. I will always remember it with great pleasure ». Andrea Feduzi: «When I arrived in the village Maria Bonaria was in the Municipality. She was respected, but she and her family welcomed me right away. " Fabrizio Madeddu concludes: «He has never skimped on his commitment to our country. He gave us a great example ».
