«The bridge over the Strait is a symbol and will be a great absolutely green work with zero environmental impact. And there will be no other impact regarding earthquakes, tides and winds. Engineers know how to do their job. This was stated by the Minister of Infrastructure Matteo Salvini.
«There will be - he added - an enormous environmental saving. In this regard, I asked for an update of the environmental impact assessment in terms of no emissions both into the air and into the water".
"Of course - Salvini said again - hundreds of millions of euros have been spent without a single stone having moved, but the bridge will be a unique work in the world with its three kilometers of single span. In recent months I have gone to various European countries and will soon also go to Japan and Turkey to see bridges and similar artifacts. Once the work is completed, I expect by the end of this decade, it will be the Turks and the Japanese who will come to us».
According to Salvini, moreover, «money will be saved because it is estimated that the lack of connection with Sicily alone weighs at least six billion a year. And the shopping of Calabria is not far away».
