Salmo is hospitalized at the Policlinico San Marco in Catania for health problems. He's also planning his concerts in Sicily , on Sunday, August 9th, at the Wave Music Festival at Villa Bellini, Catania, and on Tuesday, August 11th, at the Wave Summer Music at the Palermo Velodrome.

The Olbia rapper himself broke the news and reassured fans in a post on social media: "Sicily, I'm here, I don't want to back out. I'm better now and I'll be back on stage tomorrow," Salmo wrote, later thanking the doctors and emergency room staff who treated him.

The hospitalization comes just days after he publicly disclosed another health issue. In a video posted on social media, Salmo discussed basal cell carcinoma, also showing the scar left by the surgery.

"Unfortunately, like many others, I used sunscreen, and the result was skin cancer. Basal cell carcinoma. This is a scar that was removed and is now growing back," she declared, reigniting the debate on sunscreen sparked by the statements of nutritionist and oncology specialist Debora Rasio, who in a video posted on Instagram argued that "when we talk about melanoma, the first thought is that it's caused by the sun. The data, however, says otherwise: increased sun exposure protects against melanoma." Rasio also stated that "sunscreens increase the risk of all skin cancers, especially melanoma," while "the vitamin D we produce through sun exposure is the most important protective factor."
