In the heart of Trexenta, between two valleys at the foot of Mount Nuritzi and its nuraghe of the same name, lies the town of Selegas, populated by around 1400 inhabitants who, tomorrow, Sunday 5 November, will open the doors of their "Domus", the churches and the squares to visitors for the second appointment of Saboris Antigus.

After the great success of Gergei last week, the event therefore stops in another of the 9 towns of Trexenta and Sarcidano, which are part of a circuit of initiatives organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Cagliari and Oristano and designed to promote the beauties and the riches of the territory, be they food and wine, archaeological, material or immaterial, linked to celebrations, festivals, places of worship and legends and traditions.

The structure of the town of Selegas that visitors will find themselves in front of during the day of celebration of Saboris Antigus is typically rural: the houses are low and the facades are embellished with murals that tell the story of daily life and the social organization of the place. In the town center stands the parish church of Sant'Anna, in Pisan-Gothic style from the 12th-13th century. The bell tower has four bells and on the oldest (1608) there is the engraving “Seligas”.

It is certainly a territory rich in centuries-old traditions and evocative places, linked to true stories, ancient legends and fascinating tales: but above all Selegas is a town immersed in a network of Nuragic routes, sacred wells, giants' tombs, where campaigns are currently underway of excavations that led to new interesting discoveries. The white marble statue known as the mother goddess of Turriga was also found in Selegas. The discovery was made by a farmer in 1935, inside a circle of stones linked - it is presumed - to a Nuragic village, in the Turriga area. Today the symbol is also known because it is linked to a well-known wine of the same name. Scholars have put forward the hypothesis that it could be an idol linked to domestic protection dating back to the Neolithic. Today we know for sure that the cruciform woman of Turriga is a very important symbol linked to the family and very identifiable of the Selegas territory and of the whole of Sardinia.

Thanks to the Saboris Antigus day, Selegas will be entirely visitable and will be able to offer its beauties to the visitor who will thus be invited to return several times throughout the year.

It starts at 9am with the demonstration of ancient crafts and the display of local products in the stands of the historic center, and there will be the opportunity to visit places of worship. The laboratories. Saboris Antigus is an event designed for families, which is why the workshops have been designed for both adults and children.
