Under attack for the decree against expensive flights to the Islands, the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy responds to the CEO of Ryanair Eddie Wilson, who, defining the government measure "ridiculous" and "illegal" threatened to reduce the routes towards Sicily and Sardinia.

«Ryanair does what it believes. Italy is the company's first market, the most attractive in Europe. If they cut routes, someone else will fill them, I just wonder if the shareholders are of the same opinion," says the Meloni government exponent in an interview with La Stampa.

Urso accuses the low cost of having made "speculation". «In recent years on the Italian market – he attacks – he has done what he wanted, now the situation must change».

The minister rejects the Balearic and Canary Islands model in Spain without appeal, which provides for direct contributions to the passenger through the use of public funds to reimburse up to 75% of residents' tickets. "Between Sicily and Sardinia there are 6.5 million people, do the math for the state coffers," he explains.

Finally, he concludes, in view of the new table with the airlines: «When we sit down we will verify how to deal with the distortions. It reassures me that everyone, except Ryanair alone, admits the problem. The market that works is the regulated one, up to now it has obviously been unregulated».
