On the day Ryanair launches five domestic routes to and from Sardinia for winter 2023, the Irish company does not fail to return to the controversy with the Italian government.

The routes, it is explained, concern Alghero and are "over 30 weekly flights" which will connect the port of the Coral Riviera with Bologna, Milan-Bergamo, Milan-Malpensa, Naples and Pisa.

"These domestic routes to and from Alghero during the low winter season demonstrate Ryanair's commitment to the island," underlines the Dublin-based company.

«While Ryanair invests in Sardinia, driving its growth with real investments - continues the managing director Eddie Wilson -, the Italian government, unfortunately, does exactly the opposite with its illegal and misleading decree which sets a ceiling on prices , violating EU regulations and removing Ryanair from Sardinia». "If the decree is not canceled - he concludes - Ryanair will be forced to cut its activities on Sardinia and Sicily in the summer and winter of 2024 and this will mean fewer passengers at higher fares".

Ryanair also says it is "ready to bring another 2 million passengers to Sardinia and 3 million to Sicily, if the Italian government supports the cost-cutting initiatives that Ryanair presented to Minister Urso this week in Rome".
