A hearing at the TAR of Cagliari is scheduled for Wednesday 3 November to decide the future of territorial continuity in Sardinia after the appeals presented by Volotea and Ita Airways.
Both airlines had been excluded - at different times - from the tender with an urgent procedure to entrust the service of facilitated flights with public service obligations between the three airports of the island (Alghero, Cagliari and Olbia) and the national airports of Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate.
The Spanish low-cost carrier had decided to appeal to the administrative judges after it was excluded from the tender due to the lack of some formal requirements considered essential by the tender commission (documents).
The company born from the ashes of Alitalia had instead been excluded from the emergency call for a lack of "technical requirements to participate".
Three total appeals presented by the two companies, one for each of the banned routes. Routes that were then assigned to Volotea, but through a negotiated procedure .
