The Roger Waters concert in Frankfurt (Germany) scheduled for May 28 has been cancelled.
At the basis of this decision there would be some positions expressed by the bassist and founder of Pink Floyd, who has repeatedly attacked the government of Israel in recent years, comparing it to Hitler's Nazi regime or to that of apartheid in South Africa . Expressions that the Jewish community of Frankfurt did not like, which protested against the show. “We are particularly proud of our Frankfurt,” reads their official statement issued after the news of the stop.
As part of Waters' international tour, the Berlin concert, where Waters will perform on May 17 and 18 at the Mercedes Benz Arena, and the shows scheduled in Hamburg, Cologne and Munich (May 7, 9 May, May 21).
In recent months, Waters' stances on the conflict in Ukraine had also caused discussion, with harsh accusations against President Volodymyr Zelensky: "Extremist nationalists in Kiev have put the country on the path to this disastrous war".
