Matteo Renzi attacks PD secretary Elly Schlein for the failed primaries in Sardinia which pushed Renato Soru to leave the centre-left coalition.

«Schlein won the primaries, but now the primaries are no longer held. In Sardinia they are not done, which is why Soru left , in Tuscany they are not done", commented the former prime minister during the national assembly of Italia Viva.

«The Democratic Party – insists Renzi – is becoming something else, it is no coincidence that in the polls the leader who imagines himself in the party is Giuseppe Conte. This means that the Democratic Party we knew no longer exists, and this opens up a space in the centre , we just need to talk about concrete things and demonstrate the capacity of attraction that Italia Viva has."
