New appointment Thursday 10 March at the Basilica of San Saturnino in Cagliari. The theme of the meeting, which will begin at 5 pm and is curated by Maria Antonietta Mongiu and Francesco Muscolino, is “Renovatio Loci: the Franciscan landscape in Sardinia.

Speakers Father Salvatore Morittu (Franciscan of the Order of Friars Minor) and Father Fabrizio Congiu (Franciscan of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin).

The event, part of the series "Dialogues of archeology, architecture, art and landscape" organized by the Archaeological Museum of Cagliari, will deal with the Franciscan presence in Sardinia, certified by documents dating back to the early thirteenth century. A Pisan map from 1230 testifies to the Franciscan presence in Cagliari in the church of Santa Maria de Portu Gruttis (San Bardilio), at the foot of the Bonaria hill, formerly of the Benedictines of Marseille, entrusted to the Franciscans as evidenced by a notarial deed preserved in the Archive of the State of Pisa.

The meeting can also be followed on UnioneSarda.it.
