While waiting for the meeting of the Progressives called to decide on Alessandra Todde's candidacy, the broad field is starting to lose pieces in view of the 2024 regional elections .

Liberu leaves the center-left coalition table even before Thursday's meeting, in controversy with the choice to nominate the former five-star undersecretary and deputy minister.

The announcement comes with a note released by the secretary Giulia Lai , which traces the genesis of the table, the request of the independence party to hold the primaries and the choice to support Soru: «On Thursday – we read in the note – we will not participate in the table . Yesterday was a meeting to ratify decisions taken by others , we took note of the desire of the parties who decided on Todde's candidacy to avoid a democratic confrontation with the other proposed candidates".

Primaries that were «necessary to make the candidates' ideas, programs and vision of Sardinia understood, a comparison that would have led the electorate of the Sardinian left to participate in the choice of the best candidate».

Again: yesterday's meeting was " a hypocritical attempt to get the acronyms at the table to ratify a candidate decided months ago in other places ". Todde's candidacy was " established in Rome ", but "they wanted to make people believe that it was decided democratically here in Sardinia".

In view of the regional elections, Liberu continues, «our work will continue to bring the voice of independence, of the genuine left, of militancy for the environment, of non-instrumental feminism, of the protection of the national and social rights of the people to the Sardinian parliament Sardinian".

The internal confrontation within the Progressives is expected for tomorrow evening (Wednesday), on Thursday the coalition will meet again and at that point it should officially nominate Todde.
