The gap narrowed, but Alessandra Todde got more votes than Paolo Truzzu.

This emerges after a day that remained subtly convulsive. While the official declarations focused on the controversy over the flurry of last minute resolutions approved by the Solinas Council ( HERE IS THE NEWS ), a tsunami of messages circulated on chat and social media which put into account (and many in the centre-right hoped for it) a possible turnaround after the vote on Sunday 25 February for the election of the Regional Council of Sardinia.

Because five days after the start of the counting, the official proclamation of those elected is still missing. Even today, the district commissions located in the courts of the island examined the reports received from the 1825 (out of 1844 total) sections examined, to conclude the calculations to then be transmitted to the Court of Appeal of Cagliari. In this phase, rather than a recount, there is a verification of the documents and the sums of the votes.

According to the data that led to the calling of the press conference of the Campo Largo candidate (when Todde said: «I am honored to be the first female president of Sardinia»), Truzzu was trailing by 2,600 preferences. But there were disjointed votes contested, failures to attribute preferences expressed for the list to the president, null ballots that perhaps weren't. In short: many variables that made some dream of the aforementioned "goal by Luvumbo (or Pavoletti)" after the deadline.

According to the latest rumours, after the analysis of what was released by the polling stations, the difference between Todde and Truzzu was reduced by over 1300 votes. But according to electoral law, one more is enough to win. And the new numbers, although not yet official, have caused exponents of the center-left to breathe a sigh of relief.

On the other hand, whatever happens, they don't like the "triumphalistic" tones of those who, in that case, "would have won by a few hundred votes out of over 730 thousand", says an authoritative exponent of the coalition that supported Paolo Truzzu.

Awaiting the final certification from the Court of Appeal of Cagliari.
