New confrontation between the candidates for the office of governor of Sardinia, in view of the elections of 25 February.

However, the comparison was halved: only Alessandra Todde, leader of Campo Largo, and Renato Soru, head of the Sardinian Coalition, were present at the event, organized by Copagri. However, Paolo Truzzu, candidate of the centre-right, and Lucia Chessa of Sardegna R-esiste are absent.

Furthermore, a "remote" comparison: not with the face-to-face modality, but with separate interventions from the stage, but on the same issues, all focused on the situation of the agricultural sector, which in recent days is being affected by protests which also involve farmers and shepherds of the island.

In their speeches, Copagri managers listed the problems of the sector, from bureaucracy to delays, from the new European CAP to delays in payments of Argea premiums, up to the need for a reorganization of the Agriculture department of Villa Devoto and of the regional agencies Agris, Laore and Argea.

Both Todde and Soru agreed on the need to act on the 2001 law on the organization of the council, with the aim of arriving at an "inter-departmental sharing" of delegations because the management of Sardinian agriculture "also passes for the environment, industry, tourism and craftsmanship and healthcare".

"We cannot think that, just as we have emptied the manufacturing and industrial sectors - said Soru -, the same can happen for such an important sector that feeds us and keeps us alive".

For Todde, it is necessary to intervene on the size of Sardinian agricultural companies, which are too small to compete: «In our program – he said – we envisage the definition of a framework law on agro-pastoral development on the island».
