The regional budget is turning into a "political quagmire" and the opposition is not having it. Fausto Piga, deputy group leader of Fratelli d'Italia in the Regional Council, hits the nail on the head and accuses the majority of "fraud, improvisation and superficiality" in the management of the 2025 budget.

"It's true, even the center-right in the last legislature approved the budget late, but at the time there was Covid, an unpredictable crisis. Today, however, the delays are unjustifiable and the result of superficial political management", attacks Piga.

According to the councilor, there was time to close the matter, but the majority preferred to "waste time", with the concrete risk of dragging the provisional exercise until April. "An embarrassing procrastination - he accuses - that is dangerously slowing down the spending of the Municipalities".

Without an approved budget, the Region cannot transfer the necessary resources to the Municipalities, blocking funds for social assistance and investments in public works.

"The mayors will pay the price, forced to jump through hoops in the coming months to make up for the time lost by the Region. And the ones who will pay the price, as always, will be families and businesses." concludes Piga.

"The dance of dates continues: in December there was talk of January, then February, now March. What will be the next missed deadline?"
