"Using expiring rankings is a duty, not an option." This is the message conveyed by Brothers of Italy, which has presented a bill to extend the rankings of successful candidates in public competitions within the Sardinia Region system by 12 months—until December 31, 2026.
The initiative's spokesperson is Fausto Piga, deputy group leader in the Regional Council, and the first signatory of the submitted text.
"Too often, the Region and its associated agencies ignore these rankings," Piga stated, "but using them saves time and public resources. Above all, it would allow us to respond promptly to the staffing shortages that plague many facilities."
The proposal comes at a time when numerous regional administration offices, as well as institutions, agencies, and healthcare facilities, are having to deal with significant staff reductions .
The party is therefore calling for regulatory intervention to prevent hundreds of eligible candidates from being excluded from the possibility of being hired, despite having passed a public selection process.
The provision concerns in particular the rankings resulting from competitions announced by the Region , by the bodies and agencies of the Regional system, by Ares, by local health authorities, hospitals and university hospitals.
"We hope," Piga concluded, "that the entire majority will share this battle, which isn't just a political one, but one of administrative common sense. We can't ignore those who have already demonstrated they have the qualifications to work in public administration."
