The governor of Sardinia Alessandra Todde attacks the president of the Senate Ignazio La Russa regarding the latest statements by the Fdi representative on the referendums of 8 and 9 June .

"I find it shameful that people are being asked not to vote and that the second highest office in the state is doing so," said the Five Star Movement president in Sassari, at the Europa Verdi congress. "From this stage, I instead invite you to vote," she immediately clarified, "to express your preferences, to leave a strong mark and I ask you to help me make the Sardinians and all citizens do the same. Democracy is exercised in this way, not by inviting abstentionism."

Appreciation for Todde's words comes from the general secretary of the Cgil in Sardinia, Fausto Durante : «I thank the president for her appeal to vote. It is intolerable that some of the highest institutional and government officials in the country , above all the Prime Minister and the President of the Senate, call for abstention : this betrays the spirit of the Republican Constitution, which calls for participation and popular protagonism during electoral consultations».
