Three years after arriving in Parliament, the discussion of the popular initiative law proposal for the recognition of Insularity in the Constitution has been scheduled. The appointment in the classroom at Palazzo Madama is set for Thursday 28 October. The text provides for the insertion of this paragraph in Article 119 of the Charter: "The State recognizes the serious and permanent natural disadvantage deriving from insularity and arranges the necessary measures to guarantee effective equality and a real enjoyment of individual and inalienable rights ".

The text had passed the examination of the Senate's Constitutional Affairs Committee on October 27 a year ago, the law arrived in Parliament in October 2018.

In recent days, the members of the Insularity Commission of the Sardinian Regional Council had launched an appeal to speed up the process.
