"At club level I think I'm done, but then you know how strange football is: never say never...". Not a change of heart, but a doubt (or a temptation) that undermines the certainties expressed by Claudio Ranieri at the end of his victorious adventure with Cagliari. The Testaccio coach had not announced the end of his career, but had declared that he was available, eventually, only to return to coach a national team.
The possibility of a return to the track also in a championship seems to be reopened in the wide-ranging interview given to the Gazzetta dello Sport: «I resisted the calls. But I'm waiting for something that excites me».
Looking at Serie A, Ranieri talks about Inter as favourites for the Scudetto, but he knows that Thiago Motta's Juve and Conte's Napoli are not to be underestimated.
And, obviously, he doesn't shy away from an evaluation of Cagliari: "A matter of the heart, like Roma," he said, "Nicola is on the right path." Then an opinion on the rough jewel, Zito Luvumbo: "He has potential, but he shouldn't be burdened with responsibilities bigger than himself."
