Udinese will have to play a championship match behind closed doors due to racist insults directed at AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan during last Saturday's match.

This was decided by the Serie A sports judge Gerardo Mastrandrea «in relation to the manifestations of racial discrimination which affected Mike Maignan on several occasions , and which led to the making of 2 loudspeaker announcements, as well as to an initial interruption of the game for approximately one minute, then to a suspension of the match for about 5 minutes."

In the statement, the sports judge highlights "the objective seriousness of the facts described and reported" and underlines that " there were no reports, during and after the facts, and despite the two announcements to the public, clear demonstrations of dissociation from such intolerable behavior on the part of of the remaining supporters ."

Udinese has not commented on the sentence and is considering appealing : the club, in fact, is convinced that it has adopted all the necessary measures to send a strong signal.

Meanwhile, yesterday one of the fans who insulted the Rossoneri goalkeeper was identified: a complaint and a 5-year Daspo for him.
