One billion euros for healthcare, public works, local authorities, sport and tourism. It is the last important financial provision of the legislature hastily approved overnight by the Regional Council.

The House had to be quick because by law budget changes cannot be approved after November 30th.

Now the ball passes to the Region's offices which will have to work equally hard to be able to commit the resources by 31 December: 760 million of the billion are allocated for 2023. Of this amount of resources, 100 million will be used to increase the single fund of the entities locals. Municipalities will also be able to use them for current expenditure.

Another important chapter concerns healthcare. Among other things, the expenditure of two million euros in favor of the zooprophylactic institute for vaccines against blue tongue is authorized. Also in the budget are 37 million for the increase in the health fund to be divided between the local health authorities, 14 million for the reduction of waiting lists, 20 million for the supplementary agreement for family doctors.

On the hospital front, to avoid the closure of the birth center of the CTO hospital in Iglesias, 2.5 million have been allocated (year 2023) for the stipulation of contracts with external professionals. Up to 10 million for the extension of the contracts of health service employees (healthcare workers, nurses, administrators) expiring on 31 December, and one hundred thousand euros to allow celiac patients to purchase gluten-free products throughout the regional territory and not only in the accredited points of sale.

And, again, funds for public works, hydrogeological risk, refinancing of the Resisto Fund, support for businesses established in 2020 to deal with the economic crisis linked to Covid.
