"World Space Week" is celebrated at the Planetarium of L'Unione Sarda
On 4 October 1957, the launch of Sputnik, the first artificial satellite: since then man has had new points of observation on the dynamics of the planetOn October 4, 1957 , Sputnik , the first artificial satellite, was launched from Earth. To commemorate that event, World Space Week is celebrated these days. It has now become a privileged observation point for the health of the planet: its climate and the dynamics of its population.
Not only the recurrence of the event, however: the organized initiatives also aim to look to the future, to the mission programs for a return to the Moon and for the conquest of Mars.
Over the weekend there will also be meetings at the Planetarium of L'Unione Sarda , as explained in the video (with images from NASA) by Manuel Floris , astrophysicist and director of the Planetarium.
