The Cagliari-based company Ajò Energia srl, which provides gas and electricity services, has been fined by the Antitrust. Three "unfair commercial practices" pursuant to the consumer code that led to a total penalty of 148 thousand euros.

In detail, the Antitrust Authority (Agcm) believes that the company in some of its commercial proposals has not provided "complete and transparent information on the economic conditions, with specific reference to marketing costs, as the 'total amount of the same was not specified either in the sales scripts or in the contractual documentation ".

Censorship also for the "forecast of additional marketing costs set at the discretion, the payment of which was requested from customers entirely for the first year of supply, even in the event of withdrawal before 12 months".

Finally, the Agcm considers "incongruous" and high "the percentage incidence of 4% of marketing costs on the estimated annual expenditure of a typical family".

Ajò Energia can now contact the TAR to contest the penalties or pay within 30 days of notification of the provision.
