The awards will take place, in a big party, next Thursday in Macomer, starting at 18.30, in the Tamuli pavilion, of the former Mura barracks. This is the first "I Rossi del Marghine" competition, an initiative of the cultural association "Binzatteris", which takes place with the collaboration of the European school of sommeliers, the Laore agency and the patronage of the municipality of Macomer.

«An event to promote the quality red wines of Marghine - says the president of Binzatteris, Alberto Betterelli - produced in the local vineyards, but also to give impetus to an activity whose origins date back two centuries ago».

There are 64 wines taking part in the competition, produced in the vineyards of Macomer, Birori, Borore and Bortigali. In recent days, the three commissions, each made up of 5 sommeliers, have evaluated the wines participating in the competition. All were declared to be of good quality. For each, however, a special form has been drawn up, where the score given by the sum of the values of taste and smell, color and clarity is reported. In each sheet, which will then be delivered to each individual participant, there is also advice from the experts to further improve the product.

«Participation in the competition is significant and goes beyond all expectations - says Alberto Betterelli - these are local wines, which from historical research, appeared to be one of the most important areas of the island. We have organized this competition, which will become an annual appointment, together with other initiatives, precisely to enhance what is produced in our area, with hundreds of enthusiasts, who are our binzatteris».
