Health and transport, two sectors in which, according to the deputy Pietro Pittalis (Forza Italia), the work of the Regional Council is "bankruptcy".

"Visiting the area - he explains - I gather concern and a certain detachment from politics perceived as incapable of solving health and transport problems, of intervening in the sectors that concern small and medium-sized enterprises, and of providing Sardinia with a housing plan ».

For health, for example, "we still have eight-month waiting lists, hospitals without directors of complex structures, a shortage of doctors in the wards, a health policy entirely centered in Cagliari". As far as the construction of new hospitals is concerned, Pittalis would have examined the hypothesis of making the existing ones work more closely: «I would have given a priority look at the shortages of staff and I would have taken care to ensure that peripheral health care works like in Cagliari. Solved these problems, then we can think about the rest».

On continuity instead: «The tenders went well when national airlines such as Meridiana, Air Italy and Alitalia itself were structured in Sardinia. Today there is an open market: by taking advantage of the offer of several carriers, more and better could have been done, also having an interlocution with Brussels through the national government".

Meanwhile, there is already talk of regional elections and also of the possible candidacy of Pittalis himself: «I think that's not the first of the problems. In any case, I persistently receive many solicitations not only within FI, but also from friends of other parties. I had already said no to Berlusconi for the Superior Council of the judiciary, considering my commitment in Parliament on the justice and anti-mafia fronts to be useful. Now I'm working on the project of identifying the person who can represent the synthesis».
