Doctors must be assigned to hospitals in distress, in particular that of Nuoro. And the right to treatment must be guaranteed throughout Sardinia, through a redistribution of staff.

The request comes from the leader of the Lega group in the regional council, Pierluigi Saiu , who formally forwarded to the president of the Health Commission a request to convene the councilor for Health Mario Nieddu and the leaders of Ares in order to discuss the measures that have been adopted. o that must be adopted to ensure compliance with the essential levels of assistance throughout the region.

“The recruitment of medical personnel today - explains Saiu - does not contain corrective mechanisms and this leads to an impoverishment of all the facilities except those of Cagliari and Sassari, with serious imbalances and strong inefficiencies. Is it more important to guarantee a citizen's right to treatment or to support the will of a doctor to go to Cagliari or Sassari? It seems clear to me - adds Saiu - that the right to health of the citizen must be put in the first place and all other interests can only be unsuccessful. The distribution of medical personnel today is unbalanced. The only possible way - continued the leader of the Lega - is to provide for recruitment on the basis of the suffering index of the structures. Politics and companies must be able to govern these processes, not to undergo them. If in Nuoro, for example, there is no urologist, the department closes. If a surgeon is missing, the shifts are not completed ”.

“Guaranteeing the efficiency of the garrisons in the territories - continues the leader of the Lega - secures the same hubs in Cagliari and Sassari which alone are not able to ensure all the necessary services. I therefore asked that the issue be discussed and an effective solution found because it is now clear to everyone that the situation in the hospitals of Sardinia has become unsustainable. The only way - Saiu concluded - is that of a true rebalancing and we must have the courage to follow it. And this is what I intend to do: fight to obtain it, to guarantee an adequate level of health services in my territory and in the other areas of Sardinia more in difficulty ”.
