Promote the critical reading of information, distinguishing between real news and fake news, according to the competences established by the European Union. Born as an initiative of a network of schools made up of the Azuni, Castelvì, Figari and Spano high schools of Sassari and the Paglietti Institute of Porto Torres, now the "Media Education" project becomes a regional law proposal that a delegation of female students and school students, coordinated by their teachers, they will present to the highest representatives of the island's institutions.

An unprecedented initiative not only for Sardinia but also for all of Southern Italy, because so far just over twenty schools have been involved in this matter throughout the country, distributed in the center and north of the peninsula.

The auditorium of the Technical Pole in via Monte Grappa in Sassari will host the days of study and discussion on the theme "Media Education, a proposal for Sardinia" on 3 and 4 December.

The University of Sassari is a partner of the initiative as part of the activities of the Third Mission with particular reference to the Next Generation EU community policies implemented throughout the territory. The University, in harmony with the network of schools involved in the project, is working on the establishment of a Master dedicated to Media Education open to all interested figures and dedicated in particular to teachers who will then have to disseminate it in schools.

Launched in agreement with the Sardinian Press Association, the project also has the Regional Order of Journalists as a partner and provides for concrete support from the Sardinian Corecom (Regional Communications Committee) and the Sardinia Foundation.
