A bad taste gag with the usual clichés about Sardinians was aired last night at Paperissima Sprint.

Starring the presenter Roberta Lanfranchi, Gabibbo and Davide Urgu from Oristano. The sketch is set in a South Tyrolean hut: the protagonists are a shepherdess from the North, who is the host, the Gabibbo and a Sardinian shepherd.

Interpreted precisely by Urgu, who is dressed as a South Tyrolean but is "South Tyrolean", as specified by Gabibbo when asked by the presenter. And he speaks a language incomprehensible to Italians.

Not only that, it also stinks: at a certain point in fact Lanfranchi complains of the bad smell and obviously the Sardinian shepherd stinks, “because he washes once every five years”, explains Gabibbo.

At the end Urgu is invited to leave the scene and Lanfranchi breathes a sigh of relief: "Now the air is more breathable," he says.

There was no shortage of protests on social media: "An insult to a category of workers and an entire region", "Really in bad taste". And there are those who call for a boycott of the broadcast if not of the television network.

URGU - To be targeted most of all is the Sardinian who has lent himself. Davide Urgu replied to the comments on his Facebook profile: "I'm sorry if someone thinks they have disrespected a category or a people, I have always supported and defended the battle of the shepherds both in unsuspecting times on Striscia la Notizie and with the tenorenis 3 years ago in Bitti, but as it happens nobody gave me shit ***. I am a father of a family who every day tries to do his best to move forward in a humble and dignified way without stepping on anyone's toes. It is right that there are those who manifest dissent or consent, I have not offended anyone and I am convinced of this, as opposed to someone who writes comments that border on media bullying ”.
