"Giogagiò" is coming: the TV for the little ones speaks (and sings) in Sardinian

Even the children want their share and, from Saturday, they will have it. How? Tuned into Sardegna 1, where from 3.30 pm, in repeat at 9 on Sunday and at 7 on Wednesday, "Giogagiò", a new TV program dedicated to them, will be broadcast. Eight episodes, in which the focus will be on a song to sing, a story, an activity with a brilliant guest and many new words, every week with the involvement of school pupils in the studio. And everything will be in the Sardinian language.
The program
“Giogagiò”, born from an idea of the journalist Paola Pilia, is a quality format for children, which can also be used by adults and families, which will further enrich the offer of the L'Unione Sarda Publishing Group. It will be conducted and sung in Sardinian by the versatile Renzo Cugis, who with the musical project "Filastrocchen'roll" has created hundreds of shows with Gianfranco Liori in Italy, Europe, Africa and the USA. And, now, those much-loved songs, which lightly address very significant topics for children, have been translated or adapted into Sardinian to fascinate young spectators. After singing, among others, "Ita fait su cocodrillu", it will be time for the stories, read by the actress Antonella Puddu while the illustrated pages scroll on the screen. They will be great contemporary classics, such as "To make mistakes" by Gianni Rodari or "Elmer, the colorful elephant" by David McKee. Then space for creativity, with the advice of the juggler-engineer and the comedian Alessandro Pili.

«It is not a transmission on the Sardinian language, but a program in which any topic is spoken in Sardinian. Children know and understand it even when they say they don't know. The dust that we have left to settle on the great cultural heritage must be eliminated".
