A smile that speaks louder than words. This is the invitation UNICEF extends to passengers at Cagliari-Elmas Airport with the photography exhibition "Can You Smile for Me?", open from November 11, 2025, to January 11, 2026, in the domestic departures area (gates 7-8).
The project, curated by photojournalist and RAI war correspondent Giammarco Sicuro, chronicles the lives of children in areas affected by conflict and humanitarian crises such as Ukraine, Syria, and the West Bank. Through powerful portraits and stories of fragility and resilience, the exhibition invites reflection on the symbolic power of a smile: a simple gesture that in these contexts becomes an emblem of hope and rebirth.
For the first time in Italy, the exhibition is being held in an airport setting and uses NaviLens technology, which allows visually impaired people to enjoy audio content simply by scanning an optical code similar to a QR code with their smartphone.
Thanks to the collaboration with Sogaer SpA, visitors will also be able to support UNICEF's emergency programs for children in the countries most affected by violence and poverty, through quick donations via QR code dedicated to the fight against malnutrition, healthcare, and child protection.
