From volunteering to working on ambulances, through his love for music, poetry and the Sardinian language. His first approach to a musical instrument took place at the tender age of 13, when he managed to buy a guitar, his first precious friend in many musical adventures, spending 50 thousand lire obtained from the sale of asparagus that he himself had collected to reach his goal.

Marco Piras's big heart is all inside the words that make up the 9 songs of his album, released on March 7, which is entitled "Acultzu a Tie" and is ultimately the synthesis of his life. Of his experiences. With that dusting of island flavor that doesn't hurt and that bit of poetry and mysticism that, in the end, justifiably tear the emotion of those who listen.

Marco Piras was born on an important day, one of those that do not go unnoticed on the calendar: April 25th. In Nurallao, a town to which he is inextricably and viscerally linked. Born in 1968, and the seventh of 10 children. "I started writing songs when I was in elementary school - says the author of the album - then as an adult I started collaborating with various musical groups. I attended the Cet, Mogol's school, where I met Massimo Satta who produced my album".

Marco has always written the lyrics of his songs in Italian. «But one day, about two years ago, I read a poem in Sardinian that immediately inspired a melody. It was an instinctive thing. From that moment I started to think about following this path in my creative projects, and instead of producing a bilingual album, Italian Sardinian, with the complicity of Massimo Satta we decided that it would be a courageous album: all in the Sardinian language. The songs I composed were born from situations that created strong emotions in me, personal events or events that happened to people close to me, where I felt involved, or fragments of poems where I found the inspiration to tell my stories».

The album opens with a very strong song “In custa note” that tells an event that marked the life of the author, who also fell into despair. With “A sa luna” he then finds serenity by letting himself be lulled by the light of the most romantic satellite in the sky, feeling it like a mother. The rediscovered faith is all in the words of “Soberanu Signore”, while “A sa oghe tua” is a tribute to all those who have given prestige to Sardinian music by leaving the memory of their voice and their words.

"I have always had the belief that after this life there was a sequel, like a form of reincarnation - explains Piras - and this often came to mind when looking into the eyes of animals, "Deo l isco ses tue" is the voice of the desire of a boy who hopes that in the eyes of an eagle he can find his best friend. As a son, however, I want to hold my mother's hand so she doesn't make mistakes, and I bring her back to her life as a child by being "Acultzu a tie", close to you. While "Amentos" tells of a mother who remembers her son, an indelible sign. "Chie ses tue": I love my land, and I would like it to be more respected. Finally, I close the album with the song "Comente naschet", dedicated to my life partner".
