"A tram called Desiderio", Tennessee Williams' masterpiece on the regional premiere for the Season of Great Prose organized by Antonio Cabiddu's CeDAC under the artistic direction of Valeria Ciabattoni, debuts this evening, Thursday 13 January, at 9 pm ( with a repeat tomorrow at 10.30 in the matinee for schools) at the Municipal Theater of Sassari and on Saturday at 20.45 at the Central Theater of Carbonia in the refined mise en scène signed by Pier Luigi Pizzi for Gitiesse - Artisti Riuniti directed by Geppy Gleijeses.

In the spotlight Mariangela D'Abbraccio, one of the most loved and appreciated stars of the Italian theater.

Daughter and grandson of art, extraordinary actress in hundreds of titles and masterpieces directed by the most prestigious directors and acclaimed everywhere for her exceptional qualities as a versatile and intense interpreter capable of thrilling the audience like few others, she will be the expected protagonist in the role of Blanche DuBois with travel companion Daniele Pecci, well-known face of the small and big screen, in fiction such as "The beauty of women" and "Pride" to the most recent "Hearts", in the part of Stanley Kowalsky.

The cast also includes Giorgia Salari, Eros Pascale, Gabriele Anagni, Erika Puddu and Massimo Odierna.

The music is by Matteo D'Amico while the craftsman of light is Luigi Ascione.

The elegant setting bears the prestigious signature of Pier Luigi Pizzi, an internationally renowned artist, who has an intense career between opera and prose, starting from the important partnership with the Compagnia dei Giovani founded by Giorgio De Lullo, Romolo Valli, Anna Maria Guarnieri, Elsa Albani and Rossella Falk, who supervised the direction and evocative sets of the Tennessee Williams drama, to revive the atmosphere of an era together with the moods of the characters.
