The elderly guests of the "Fra Nazareno di Pula" accommodation community welcomed the guides of the Nora archaeological park who, in a simple but detailed way, illustrated, through the projection of videos and images, the history hidden among the historic ruins of Pula . They wore 3D viewers , thus traveling through time to discover the Phoenician-Punic and Roman Nora: for the elderly people of Pula, who welcomed the guides of the archaeological park, it was a truly interesting day.

«The project was strongly desired to make the archaeological site accessible also to the elderly who for some reason do not have the opportunity to visit the ruins on site », explains the councilor for social policies, Manuela Serra. «There are several guests in the community suffering from dementia: we are aware that few treatments are available for this pathology, and there is still no cure-all drug. However, there is a way to urge and stimulate the individual suffering from dementia with the aim of slowing down the progression of the disease. Our primary objective is therefore to actively involve the elderly community through cognitive stimulation by creating a care space within the community . A place where patients can enjoy a space, where it is possible to stimulate interest and motivation."

The hope is to export this model of cognitive stimulation outside the borders of Pula. «We hope that over the years, ours will become a project that can also involve the guests of the retirement homes present in the various towns of Sardinia », explains Serra, «with the fundamental contribution of the Pula cultura diffusi foundation and the commendable commitment of the operators of the important initiatives could be carried out in the personal service sector of our Municipality."
