Prostate cancer will be discussed at the "Prostate Cancer Update 2025" conference, presented by the Nuclear Medicine Unit of Brotzu Hospital in Cagliari, directed by Dr. Michele Boero. The event focuses on one of the most complex and evolving topics in contemporary urogenital oncology. The event, scheduled for Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Caesar's Hotel in Cagliari, starting at 9:00 a.m., is aimed at professionals from the many disciplines involved in the management of prostate cancer. The goal is to foster rigorous scientific updates and qualified discussion, promoting an integrated approach aimed at improving patient care in the advanced stages of the disease.
Recent advances in biology, the evolution of diagnostic technologies, and the introduction of increasingly targeted therapies necessitate continuous improvement of skills in the multidisciplinary management of patients with mCRPC. With this in mind, the conference will offer a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the most relevant developments in diagnostics, prognosis, and treatment. The program, divided into thematic sessions, will explore the growing role of molecular imaging and nuclear medicine, with a particular focus on Radioligand Therapy (RLT) and Next Generation Imaging (NGI) techniques. Advances in personalized medicine, enabled by molecular characterization—such as BRCA mutation analysis and subsequent genetic counseling—will also be explored, allowing for increasingly precise treatment decisions.
Further in-depth discussions will be dedicated to innovative therapeutic strategies, from PARP inhibitors to locoregional options for the treatment of metastases, including advanced radiotherapy, interventional radiology, and radiometabolic therapy. The day will conclude with a final discussion focused on optimizing the therapeutic sequence in patients with mCRPC, a key topic for defining applicable and sustainable clinical pathways in hospital and community settings.
