After Massimo Zedda, who has given his willingness to run for the office of mayor of Cagliari «even with the primaries» comes the first challenger in the centre-left field: his name is Michele Pipia, from Cagliari, he is 45 years old, entrepreneur in the tourism sector and organizer of events, historically active in the centre-left camp.

«In recent days I have communicated to the city secretaries of various lists and parties my desire to run in the primaries», he announced,
«the candidacy was born as independent of any party and developed following the desire, on the part of a group of citizens and in light of the evident failure of the administration led by Paolo Truzzu, to start a major discussion on the problems of the city and propose solutions".

A declaration well in advance, that of Pipia: «While waiting for a convocation of the citizen table of the political forces that want to build a Coalition for Cagliari, the listening and discussion meetings with citizens, associations and committees are continuing ».

The candidate for the all-left challenge makes it known that he is already working on the program: «Numerous reports of critical issues have been collected and the citizens' great desire not to stand by and watch passively, to make a change and restore capable leadership to the city. All the reports and proposals received are at the center of the construction of an electoral program which, day by day, is taking shape."

Among the various points of interest for citizens «there is the planning of public works, which Truzzu completely failed and which has created inconvenience and economic losses for citizens and commercial activities. Culture and school buildings, which have been completely neglected, are also issues that are very close to the hearts of residents. Just as the increase in the Tari and the problem of cleaning the city have been the subject of several reports."

The movements for the post-Paolo Truzzu (who is aiming for the Region) are not only registered in the centre-left. Also in the field is the candidacy of Giuseppe Farris, lawyer and former councillor, who has long launched his candidacy as head of a civic movement.
