The dispute over the Glencore plant in Portovesme continues, after the company decided to close the zinc production line . Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, intervened on the case in a hearing at the Chamber of Deputies' Productive Activities Commission: " We are sure that a positive outcome can be found", his confidence on the issue. "The Portovesme case is a complicated one . We have clearly told the company that if there was - and there is - a project as significant as the one they presented to the European Commission on the lithium sector, we intend to support it in the belief that that site must remain a significant production site in a region that truly needs it".

"If they decide to close down, we have reformed the law on the return of incentives and the return of incentives received in the last ten years is expected . That is also a site that needs remediation."
