The first event of Musica&Natura , the concert series organized in Porto Torres by the Musicando Insieme Association and curated by artistic director Donatella Parodi, opens within the ancient walls of the Basilica of San Gavino . On Tuesday, July 22nd, at 9:30 pm, the " Duo Granato " will perform their musical project "America Landscapes," for an evening of jazz and tango.
The chamber music ensemble, featuring Cristian Battaglioli Fiocca on saxophone and Marco Rinaudo on piano, will lead the audience on an exciting journey through the American melodies of Gershwin, Maslanka, and Muczynski , before immersing themselves in the intense and captivating atmospheres of Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla . The event, which will take place from July 22nd to August 15th, will celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the "Musica & Natura" festival, which confirms its ability to unite music, culture, and art, among the evocative locations of the city of Porto Torres (Basilica of San Gavino, Atrio Metropoli, Tenute Li Lioni, and the small church of Balai Vicino). The event also celebrates the 25th anniversary of the "Fabrizio De Andrè" Civic Music School , a local center of excellence that boasts nationally renowned master musicians.
The 20th edition of Musica & Natura features 18 events , including a concert by the Sassari-based group "Creuza de Mä," a cover of the Genoese singer-songwriter Fabrizio De Andrè. The concert will take place on July 30th at 9:30 pm in the Turris Libisonis archaeological site, in collaboration with Stefano Giuliani, director of the Antiquarium Turritano national archaeological museum. The evocative location was originally scheduled to host a performance by singer-songwriter Fabio Concato e I Musici, but the concert was cancelled due to the artist's health. The "Musica & Natura" festival is organized with the support of the Municipality of Porto Torres, the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, Salude e Trigu, and the Fondazione di Sardegna.
