A school education that affects the motivational aspect of students on precision mechanics. It also happened at the Smat professional institute of higher education "Mario Paglietti", in Porto Torres, which featured Giuliano Leoni, an 18-year-old student sitting on the benches in the fourth class, awarded in the national competition held last May in Omegna ( Piedmont), at the Dalla Chiesa- Spinelli Institute.

He finished fifth in a competition between students from 11 Italian schools. The selection, reserved for all national professional institutes, with a focus on Maintenance and Technical Assistance, allowed the student from Turri to effectively apply the theoretical-practical skills acquired during his studies, solving a problem of troubleshooting a car engine with relative solution, followed by the elaboration of a technical report.

He identified the mechanical and electronic defect, calculated the correct intervention and found the solution to the problem. A practical test followed by a theoretical one, with specific questions on aspects relating to knowledge of address through the contribution of certain technologies.

«For me it was a great satisfaction, an extra incentive to continue my studies in this sector» said Giuliano Leoni who passed the fourth year qualification exam, at the Smat Institute, with a score of one hundred out of one hundred . To give support to the student, gifted with technical training and personal talent, was the teacher Nino Oneddu who accompanied him in his lucky adventure, and the teacher Alberta Giua who supported him in the bureaucratic aspects and in accessing the national competition.

A confirmation, therefore, of the effectiveness of the training action of the professional institute which has been working for years in the preparation of maintenance and technical assistance workers, in the electronics sector, and which guarantees, among other things, a job outlet starting from the third grade through a specific regional qualification.
